MIF Undergraduate Students Workshop
MOTIVATION
Hispanics and African Americans are underrepresented in STEM disciplines. The Minority Issues Forums from the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) support URM undergraduate students attending the INFORMS Annual Meeting, the premier conference for Analytics professionals and academics. Through this workshop, we want to help students take full advantage of what the meeting offers.

WHO CAN APPLY?
We are looking for underrepresented minority students currently pursuing undergraduate degrees in the United States in engineering, computer science, mathematics, and other sciences.
Selected students will participate in the in-person workshop and receive registration and travel support to attend the INFORMS Annual Meeting. Participants will also be paired with mentors in the INFORMS community.

Applications are due September 6, 2024
To apply, you will be asked to submit the following materials:

Email of professor that will provide a nomination letter.
A 500-word essay explaining your motivation to participate in this workshop.

The workshop will take place in Seattle, WA on October 19th, 2024.
The INFORMS Annual Meeting takes place during October 20-23, 2024.
